Autumn 2021: the season so far...

2021.10.15 Dimitar Haydn Concert Rev A LR.JPG

Our 2020 autumn concert was a storming success, raising over £1,000.

Dimitar Burov and friends took the stage in Harrow School's magnificent Speech Room before a socially-distanced audience who were positively hungry to hear real, live music. We were all amply rewarded!

The concert featured two magical works for string trios: Beethoven’s String Trio in C minor and Dohnányi’s Serenade in C major.
Celebrating the 250th anniversary year of Beethoven’s birth, it was fitting to hear not only his own music but also to reflect on his far-reaching influence on other composers – including Dohnányi, whose inspiration for this evening’s choice was Beethoven’s Opus 10 serenade.

Normally, our concerts are held in St Mary's Church itself. However, with Covid-19 spacing in place, it is not currently viable as a concert venue. We owe our profound thanks to Harrow School who gave us the grand (and spacious!) Speech Room for this concert.

Our grateful thanks go to Dimitar and his friends, for their gifts of time and talent, and to the audience who ventured out on a chilly October evening and gave so generously to the fundraising collection.
